I used to be a co-owner of Chat And Spin Radio based in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne UK with the owner Ron Clark, who sadly passed away in November 2022 and the Station had to close.
Chat And Spin Radio was an internet Radio Station and we broadcasted around the world 7 days a week.
We interviewed Businesses / Book Authors etc.
Now I am on ALL FLAVAS RADIO and I will be presenting the Afternoon Request Show on Wednesday’s from 2pm – 4pm & Friday’s from 4pm – 6pm.

I am a cosmopolitan avid traveller, exposed to Caribbean culture and music having spent nine years of my life on the beautiful island of St. Lucia and experiencing the region. As a payment specialist in banking, working for several financial institutions, I have always needed a balance for my heart and soul to the business person. Music has given me that space. I delight in all kinds of African-rooted music, from Jazz to R&B, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Dancehall, Soca and Calypso.
Being a true “old-skooler” I’ve been in the Funk scene since the mid-1980’s, collecting this beautiful music ever since.
The buzz-line for my B-Funk sessions is: “whatever I play next – it’s got to be funky!”
“Funky” is one of the most difficult words to define in the English language.The “Funk” in musical terms is historically related to the blue notes or blue mood created in Jazz, Blues and Soul Music, coming out of the experience of Africans in America. It exudes a down-to-earth soulfully expressed sound and by extension reflects the real nitty-gritty or the fundamental essence of living – “driving your funky soul to the max”. It’s kind of hard to describe, but once you hear the beat, the bassline, the guitar lick or the horn section, it’s easy to identify and get caught in the groove.
What I would like to highlight in my sessions is the variety that exists in the genre, presented to you in categories ranging from 70’s Funk to Boogie-Funk over to Electro-Funk, from Jazz-Funk to Brit Funk over to GoGo-Music, the distinct sounds of Ohio, Philadelphia and Minneapolis, and last but not least the new stuff, what I like to call “Brand Nu Funk”.
Some of the jams are difficult to be placed in a box – but whatever the style, the jams are there for you to enjoy.

]]>I have termed the last 4 years my “re-invention”, part of which was my decision to take voluntary release from the British Army (BA) and settle in Munich, Germany. I say of myself, “I am an ordinary person engaging in extra ordinary conversations”.
A capturing conversation currently is about the condition of us Peoples of African Ancestry or Inheritance on Earth. In constructing this conversation, I began last year; Grow yOur Afro (Hair Natural) in Memory of Our African Brothers Who Were Assassinated. Inspired by my reading the book How Europe Underdeveloped Africa, a work by Walter Rodney plus my already engaging in pertinent research, reading and my aspiration to affecting a continuity of effort long begun for unity and uplifting of us/our African Peoples.
In the months before voluntary release from the BA, I navigated back to organising; I promoted the importance of us “Foreign and commonwealth” serving (and ex serving) whom I met in the Paderborn area Army Regiments to work towards creating “CAribbean Military Past and Present Serving” (CAMPPS) for us, as having shared heritage and background, to work together for supporting community development in the Islands we came from. I saw several challenges in that endeavour as with attempts at organising “The Marchand Project” from outside the community I grew up on the Island called St. Lucia.
I left the island to join the BA in 2002. The following years saw me be trained to be a soldier, Combat Medical Technician (CMT) Health Care Assistant (HCA) and finally Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMHN) at Birmingham City University. For the last 6 years of my service career, I worked within teams of Mental Health Professionals in London, UK and Paderborn, west Germany. Before leaving St. Lucia (in 2002) I volunteered with the St Lucia Sickle Cell Association while I, with others, started up a support group for persons with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) on the island. My employment before that was in the hospitality sector working at several hotels as a Social Coordinator or “Playmaker”.
I engage in conversation with (all) people and in cultural exchanges; I read, write, listen to music, dance and anything to do with learning (about others and) new experiences, I welcome.
I am thrilled about the possibilities that will be primed from extending and engaging in meaningful conversation, through radio with you and those we will reach and touch.

I grew up in Tulse Hill, South London and partied in 80’s with my bro’ and mates from the local area. I want to bring back some musical memories but also pay tribute to those who inspired me by providing a listening ear to those in the community. I believe that providing a therapy show on all flavas radio is a great opportunity for us all to begin an internal healing.
